Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 June 2026

These terms govern your use of this website, operated by Meridian Passenger Claims Inc. as FlightCompanion CA. By using the site or submitting the eligibility form, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

1. What this service is — and is not

FlightCompanion CA is a private, commercial informational service. The content on this site is general information about Canadian air passenger rights and is not legal advice. We are not a law firm, not a government department, and not affiliated with the Canadian Transportation Agency, Transport Canada, or any airline. Using this site does not create a lawyer–client or agency relationship.

2. The free eligibility assessment

When you submit your flight details, we review whether your situation appears to qualify under the applicable regulations and share that view with you. The assessment is free, informational, and carries no obligation to take any further step. It is an opinion based on the information you provide, not a determination by the airline or the CTA, and not a promise of any outcome.

3. Fees

The assessment costs nothing and there are no upfront fees. If you choose to engage us to pursue a formal claim, we work on a success basis: we charge a percentage of the compensation actually recovered, and only if the claim succeeds. The exact percentage and any conditions are set out in a separate agreement that we provide before you commit. You are free to decline and to pursue a claim yourself or through anyone else.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to give accurate, complete information and to authorize us in writing before we act on your behalf. You confirm you are entitled to submit the details you provide. Providing false or misleading information may make an assessment or claim invalid.

5. No guarantee of outcome

Compensation depends on factors outside our control — the cause of the disruption, the applicable regulations, the airline's response, and any CTA determination. We do not and cannot guarantee that a claim will succeed or that any particular amount will be paid. Compensation figures cited on this site reflect the official APPR regulation tiers for general information and are not a quote.

6. Third-party names and references

We refer to airlines, regulations, and authorities for information only. Airline and other names and marks belong to their respective owners; their use here does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

7. Intellectual property

The text, design, and graphics on this site belong to Meridian Passenger Claims Inc. unless stated otherwise. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use; you may not republish or exploit them commercially without permission.

8. Limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the general information here, from your inability to use the site, or from any delay in the claims process. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Links to other sites

Where we link to external resources, such as official regulators, we do so for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.

10. Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada. We may update them from time to time; the "last updated" date shows the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept the changes.
